About Milton Girls Travel Lacrosse
GENERAL TRAVEL PROGRAM INFORMATION
- Milton has girls travel teams for grades 1-8, playing in the Massachusetts Youth Lacrosse League
- Teams play an 8-game season during March 30 - June 1. (No games Easter & Memorial Day Weekends)
- Practice is twice a week. Girls are expected to make every effort to attend both practices. We understand that there are other commitments, but in general girls must be able to attend at least one weekly practice to play on a team
- Primary focus is on sportsmanship - learning the sport vs. score of the game
- Classic League Travel Teams are rostered by grade, with an evenly balanced distribution of player ability across each team. All travel teams from each town are equal in skill (no A team, B team rankings)
- Coaches try to give equal playing time for grades 1-4 travel players, with the primary focus of the game being on learning the sport vs. score of the game. Grades 5-8 playing time should still be as equal as possible with players being on the field for at least a total of half of the game time.
- Travel teams are coached by parent volunteers - they are an invaluable part of our program!! Coaching the coaches is run by Katie Conover's All American Athletics http://www.all-american-athletics.org/
- Girls must reside in, or attend school in, the town with which they are registering to play
- Equipment required: Girls stick, girls lacrosse helmet or goggles, mouthguard, cleats for outdoors
- Travel Registration open Nov 2024 – Jan 24, 2025
Athletes can start playing lacrosse at any age, without prior experience! Every year we have many first-time players in every grade!!
